Further information about this years's Regional Priority Projects

Developing a culture of reflective safeguarding and implementing the regional programme of unannounced safeguarding assurance visits

The members of this project group are the local authority 2nd Tier Safeguarding Leads. This group will be receiving facilitation support and additional funding to fulfil its action plan for the year. This plan addresses the regional priority to develop and strengthen a culture of reflective practice in social casework. During 2011/12 this project group will also be developing and implementing a regional programme of unannounced safeguarding assurance visits as part of the East Midlands scheme of sector led improvement in children's services. The project will include a key regional seminar in Derby on Tuesday 15th November, led by Professor Eileen Munro, during part of which she will work with project members to help them shape their action plan.

Establishing confident leadership of child poverty strategies in the region

The members of this group are the regional group of child poverty officers that was established from the JRIEP regional seminar in autumn 2010. This group will be receiving facilitation support and additional funding to fulfil its action plan for the year.
